On June 28th, the Association of Hoteliers of Portugal awarded the WE SHARE (social responsibility) and WE CARE (environmental sustainability) seals in a ceremony attended by the great names of hospitality in Portugal and the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
During this ceremony, the Bensaude Hotels received 7 WE CARE seals for its 7 hotels on São Miguel, Terceira and Faial Islands and Lisbon.
Environmental sustainability is a constant reality within the milieu in which the Bensaude Hotels were created and developed. Receiving these seals is another recognition of our efforts at the Bensaude Hotels, especially in recent years, which can be reflected with the following data for the year 2016:
the Bensaude Hotels spared enough water to fill Furnas Lake, enough electricity to have a 60w bulb switched on for 20 years, enough diesel to go around the world 3 times, enough propane to heat 512,862 liters/ 135,484 gallons of water and recycled enough plastic and metal to produce 84 cars and enough paper and cardboard to prevent the death of 6,006 trees.
