The General Council of the University of the Azores, in partnership with Bensaude Energia, started in the year 2022, the UAc Premier Lectures cycle, which aims to bring closer and strengthen the relationship between business and higher education institutions, namely the University of the Azores (UAc).
Last June 12th, the 2nd UAc Premier Event took place, this time entitled Fostering Effective Global Energy Transition Strategies: Climate Safe and Secure, a highly important theme, since the energy transition is one of the most striking and urgent issues of today.
Grandson of Azorean emigrants, he was a professor at MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, of which he is Professor Emeritus of Physics and Systems Engineering. In March 2013 he was appointed, by President Barack Obama, Secretary of Energy.
It was with great pride and regard that Bensaude Energia associated itself with these lectures, having as moderator of the event Marco Lopes, Administrator of Bencom S.A., who had the elementary role of ensuring the success and interaction between the speaker and the participants.
